Set back, or kick, is when the components inside a shell, typically spherical, are not packed tightly, and upon shell lift, the components shift and settle inside the shell. This is caused by incomplete packing of the shell, and can lead to flowerpots and low breaks if sensitive materials like flash powder are used as a break booster.
