In fireworks, a set piece is a ground item consisting of many colored lances, used to create an image. Common examples of set pieces include the American Flag, the Liberty Bell, the Statue of Liberty, God Bless America, the name of your show sponsor and many other types of signs. Set pieces can be as simple as a 4' by 8' American flag that is easily constructed in a few hours, up to very large complex set pieces that are expensive and time consuming to build such as a Maltese wheel. Individual set pieces can range in price from several hundred dollars to several thousand dollars, depending on the complexity.
