Although the yellow colour generally is the easiest to obtain, there are some other problems e.g. the hygroscopic nature of some sodium compounds (chlorate etc.) which precludes their use.

Note that some compositions contain substances of high toxicity such as cryolite. Wear protective equipment at all costs.
