Willow Diadem is a long-burning, charcoal, willow Star, with the inclusion of some Ferro-Titanium and Titanium for metallic sparks in the stars' tails as they fall. Meal priming is highly recommended to engulf the stars properly.

Composition

Potassium nitrate 31
Sulphur 11
Charcoal (airfloat) 39
Titanium (medium spherical) 3
Ferrotitanium (40-325 mesh) 5
Ferrotitanium (30-60 mesh) 4
Dextrin 7

Method
Ballmill everything but the metals for about 5 hours, never ball mill metals. Then screen the Ferrotitanium and Titanium into the mix using the screen method until the mixture is homogeneous. Now you need to moisten the mix so it can be pumped into stars. Do this by mixing up a solution of about 75% water and 25% isopropyl alcohol (do not add any more than 25% alcohol). The alcohol makes the water wetter by breaking down the surface tension of the composition and allows the water to be absorbed easier. The drying time of a composition is also reduced as alcohol evaporates faster than water.

Add some of the solution to the composition and mix well. Keep adding until it is damp enough to clump together if you squeezed an amount in your hand. Don't make the mixture too wet or it will make pumping the composition impossible. If this happens, just add more dry mix.

Summary
It burns slowly with a brilliant effect of long lasting charcoal and metallic sparks tail as they fall.
